SQL Interview Questions & Answers

This SQL Developer Interview Questions & Answers is for anyone who is applying for Application developer, BI developer, DBA, Business Analyst or anyone who will work with Relational Database Management Systems. This is a comprehensive list of all possible SQL questions that might be asked during an Interview. I strongly recommend reading “50 database terminologies that every Developer should know” before you begin this.

The answers presented here are database independent unless otherwise mentioned. You can use our search features on the right, if you like to learn the detail on any question listed here. Our SQL Server and Oracle Experts are working hard to provide our readers with the comprehensive lists of frequently asked DBA questions and answers.  DBA Republic would like to thank-you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions while we are working on this, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!

  1. Hi P Baniya,

Muchas Gracias Mi Amigo! You make learning so effortless. Anyone can follow you and I would not mind following you to the moon coz I know you are like my north star.

We have two SQL node Always on failover setup for SQL 2017. I have created SSISDB and added to the availability group. I have create one test package under SSISDB on primary node and run through the job.
    1) First step - Check Primary Replica
    2) Open the master key using:
    use master
    go

OPEN MASTER KEY DECRYPTION BY PASSWORD = 'XXXXXXX'
ALTER MASTER KEY ADD ENCRYPTION BY SERVICE MASTER KEY

    3) Run the ssis package.
It runs fine on primary node but when i do failover to second node, which will be come primary now and get the error message :
Please create a master key in the database or open the master key in the session before performing this operation.
Not sure what i am missing. We are planning to add packages.
